On the road again

We left San Diego this morning to go spend a couple of days in Disney land.

We got back from our vacation last Friday finding the bus in perfect shape just like we had left it a month earlier. Everybody recovered quickly from jet lag...it’s always easier coming back!

Our month oversea went very fast. I had a tight schedule to attempt to do everything and see every one I wanted to...didn’t make it though. We didn’t have time to visit the Olympic museum in Lausanne or go to the snow which was a great disappointment for Ben & Eva (for me too)! We’ll see if we can find some in Big Bear next week. We got so busy doing stuff over there that we didn’t get time to blog much. Hope you didn’t think we had disappeared:) We saw many castles, visited the papillorama (amazing), saw my friends, ate my favorite meals prepared by my mom, visited the gruyere factory, had a picnic with my bestest friend, went to the movie theater to see an Italian movie, had lunch with my cousins, spend the week end at my brother’s, ate some chocolate, met the newest Agier (my cousin’s two weeks old boy), went to a market in France (I had never seen so many variety of cheeses), bought some comic books, rode in the TGV(high speed train), visited Paris, ate some delicious pastry, went to see an osteopath for my back, ate dandelion salad, spend time with my mom & dad, played with my four nephews and niece, walked, visited with my family, etc...

Hopefully soon I’ll have a chance to upload all the pictures into our gallery but in the mean time I’ll let you imagine the old stones from the castles built around the 12th century and the Alpes covered with white.

“Merveilles” and more

My mom brought some merveilles with her when she came to pick us up at the airport. Needless to say I opened the package right then and there. Oh, it was so good. Just like I remembered them! I’m glad to see that my family and friends are reading my posts even though they are in English. I received about ten big packages of merveilles!! Six left so far... They look very big but in fact they are quite thin and don’t take much room after been chewed;)

There are so many good things that I find again when I come back here. Like my favorite chocolate "Ragusa" which to my happy surprise does not have hydrogened oils in it anymore. Yoohoo, I do not have to boycott it! There is also all the delicious pastries, breads, buttery croissants... the list would be too big to name them all. The yogurts are different here too. I’m getting my share of hazelnut and plum ones!
As you can see (from our local grocery store) Switzerland is a land of many cheeses. I really enjoy a good raclette or fondue especially in this cold weather. It always amazes Bill that a whole meal can be just cheese and bread or potatoes!
No, this trip is not just about eating... even if it looks like it!
Stay tuned for different views of our stay in Switzerland.

Having a nice time in Switzerland

Our trip went well. It sure is easier now that the kids are older, they did great. Here they are looking at the plane that will carry us from San Francisco to Frankfurt Germany.

Ben is passing the time on our layover in Germany by reading his Indiana Jones book. His aunt Kathy gave him the book for Christmas and he just can’t put it down.

Ben, Eva and two of their cousins, Louis and Maurice. It’s great to see them all play together. I especially like to hear the kids speaking French so much. At home Sylviane has always spoke French to the kids and sometimes they talk back in French, but over here they speak French to everyone and I just love to hear them do it.

After a nice lunch at a local restaurant on Saturday we walked back on the back roads. It was about 3 or 4 kilometers and a nice sunny day. Here is Sylviane and her brother Stephane.
